OctoScout Apply Assistant (“the extension”, “we”, “us”) is a Chrome extension that automatically fills out job application forms on supported applicant tracking systems (ATS) using the applicant’s own CV and profile data. This policy explains what the extension accesses, why, and what happens to that data.
The extension only has access to, and only activates on, the following applicant tracking systems:
greenhouse.io)lever.co)ashbyhq.com)myworkdayjobs.com)icims.com)smartrecruiters.com)recruitee.com)It has no access to any other website.
Your application data. Your name, email, phone number, links you choose to provide (such as a LinkedIn profile URL you enter), CV text, and cover letter text. This data originates from your OctoScout account and is used to populate the fields of the job application form you are submitting. It is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s storage so it can be inserted into the form, and is inserted only into the application form you are actively applying through.
Login-session detection. To know whether you are already signed in to the ATS (so it can pause and ask you to sign in when a form requires it), the extension checks for the presence of that platform’s session cookie on the supported ATS domains. It reads only whether such a cookie exists — it does not read the contents of your cookies, and it does not transmit or store cookie data anywhere. After an application flow completes, the extension may remove the temporary background session it created for that flow.
Application form content. The extension reads the fields of the application form on the supported ATS page in order to match them to your data and fill them in.
The extension does not collect or process your health information, financial information, precise location, browsing history, personal communications, or authentication credentials. It does not build a profile of you for advertising and does not track your activity across websites.
Equal-opportunity / demographic fields. The extension does not fill in or collect equal-opportunity self-identification fields such as gender, ethnicity, race, veteran status, or disability status. Where an application form contains these fields, the extension deliberately leaves them blank for you to complete yourself.
Your application data is used for a single purpose: filling out the job application form you choose to submit. It is transmitted only to:
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes. We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Application data and in-progress application-flow metadata are stored locally on your device via Chrome storage. In-progress flow metadata is short-lived and is cleared automatically (within 30 minutes) or when the application completes or is cancelled. You can remove all locally stored data at any time by removing the extension.
The extension is intended for job seekers and is not directed to children under 16.
We may update this policy as the extension evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
